Sometimes you dont need anything too fancy.
You just need a site on your own domain with a few pictures, some content, and a way for people to get in touch with you.
Thats fine and I can do that for you.
If you dont have one already you can choose a domain name at Netregistry, and I’ll set up a your site on that domain.
Here’s the process.
1. You choose a domain name for your website.
Netregistry is the best option I’ve used for domain names.
.com.au domains cost approx $30 – $40 for 2 years
.com domains cost approx $30 for 2 years
There are slightly cheaper options but Netregistry have been around for ages and they’re reliable.
(Note: If you are registering a .com.au name – you’ll need to be a registered business with an ABN. With a .com, no such requirement. )
2. Netregistry will email you details of your domain name and you forward those to me.
3. In the meantime I’ll have emailed you a few site designs I think would suit. You can choose one of those and send me any pictures and text that you’d like featured on your site. We can always purchase images from an online service such as www.istockphoto.com The pictures here only cost a few dollars each to use and you’ll be squeeky clean in terms of copyright.
4. Every website needs to be hosted somewhere. I’ll ask you to set up a web hosting account at Hostgator. Hostgator is the web hosting company where your site will live. You’ll pay Hostgator directly for hosting – approx $8 per month. You can pay by the month, but its a better deal to pay for a year in advance. Dont be stressed by all the tech speak and options you encounter on their site – after your account is set up, I’ll be doing everything for you.
5. I’ll put the site together for you and then email you a link so you can see what it is looking like and make any alterations.
6. When you are happy with it, and we have tested the functionality, we hit go, and your site is live to the world.
Turnaround Time: 7 – 10 days
Price range: Between $300.00 & $750.00 with hosting of your site approx $8.00 per month.
Terms: 50% on commissioning, 50% on completion
